The Issue: Kamala Harris’ brief interview with CNN anchor Dana Bash discussing her policy positions.

We now know why Vice President Kamala Harris chose CNN for her first interview: She knew CNN’s Dana Bash would go easy on her (“What Values, Kamala?” Editorial, Sept. 2).

There were no questions about the withdrawal from Afghanistan, President Biden’s mental decline or Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s delay in calling up the National Guard while Minneapolis was being destroyed by rioters. In addition, Harris faced little pushback when she gave weak answers.

This interview proves both that CNN can’t be trusted for fair journalism and that Harris does not deserve to be president.

Harris’ handlers may have given her some questionable advice in preparation for her interview.

During her CNN sit-down with Bash, who asked about her policy position changes, particularly on fracking, Harris responded by lying about her prior opposition to fracking.

This reflects poorly on Harris’ character and her willingness to tell the truth. That’s great, considering the values of a presidential candidate reflect what they stand for — and against.

The interview underscored how CNN is essentially a media arm of the Harris campaign.

Bash overlooked Harris’ failure to lead by example. And Harris did not even present any original ideas.
While she claims to focus on “a new way forward,” many of her policies are simply the same as Biden’s, which is not a new way forward but rather a disastrous step backward.

In the long-awaited and much-anticipated “softball interview” of Harris, fluff reached new heights.

When Harris was queried about her changing positions on fracking and illegal immigration, she answered: “Let’s be clear, my values have not changed.” Huh?

Harris’ lying was beyond belief.

She wants us to believe she supports fracking, even though she has repeatedly stated her opposition to it. She also claimed that Bidenomics is working — despite soaring food prices, sky-high gas prices and the cost of living spiraling out of control.

Harris’ positions have not changed despite the lies. She is just saying what she has to in order to get elected.

Bash tried at times throughout the interview to get a definitive response from Harris, but to no avail.

Harris ignored her tenure as vice president when addressing issues that she could have solved over the past four years. And Trump remained the go-to scapegoat for any failures of the Harris-Biden administration.

At various times, Harris appeared to shrink as she attempted to answer Bash’s questions. Walz, on the other hand, looked comfortable grimacing and nodding his head. This interview was a sham at best—not live, challenging nor inspiring.

The Democrats are far superior to the Republicans in the art of deception, and the interview with Bash is a prime example — it was no different from a movie script.

Harris keeps saying she’ll keep her word on everything from fracking to immigration.

But what word is she referring to? She’s flip-flopped on many issues, so how can we know what to believe?

She claims to be pushing for the middle class, but does she realize many middle-class families can’t afford food or rent and are seeking second jobs to make ends meet? She will be a disaster if elected.

Harris finally did an interview. Yet the purportedly tough, independent nominee couldn’t do it alone, as she needed socialist knave Tim Walz as a chaperone alongside her.
