Now that NYC has offered another hotel to illegal immigrants, residents in a nearby apartment complex aren’t sleeping well due to the chronic fight nights occurring outside the shelter.

The tenants at the apartment building, located at #911 44th Dr., report seeing unaccompanied children hanging out in front of the migrant shelter from 8 pm till well past midnight, the New York Post reported. The kids have nothing better to do than fight, scream, and chase each other around the block.

“I’ve seen the kids squaring off like its ‘Fight Club,’ and I’ve seen them choking each other,” said a tenant, who says the guards occasionally respond to the mayhem. “But I’ve also seen them do nothing.”

“Five or six teenagers between 12- and 14-years-old were beating on a small child the other night,” the resident said. “Kid couldn’t have been older than 8, and they were kicking him in the head after forcing him onto the sidewalk.”

The New York Post examined videos of the kids carrying on right outside the shelter’s front door while security guards watched and even encouraged the fighting. The larger children can be seen ganging up on the smaller ones and beating them up.

The noise is like attending a prizefight at a boxing ring, said the residents who try to block the noise with the air conditioner and earplugs but to no avail. “Because of the way the children scream and shriek, it pierces through everything,” one tenant told the New York Post, who asked the media outlet for anonymity because he fears a violent response from the illegal immigrants next door.

“I have nothing against migrants, but to have to listen to this every night, unable to sleep, it’s becoming unbearable,” he continued, noting that the stress and anxiety are affecting his management of an autoimmune disorder.

The city has received hundreds of complaints about the shelter, which is run by the Department of Homeless Services, but the situation remains unchanged. It is a former Wyndham Garden hotel that is directly adjacent to a Department of Education building. Some of those complaints have reached the office of Councilwoman Julie Won but her inquiries to the Department of Homeland Security have resulted in some bureaucratic round-around as the federal government tells her the city security guards are responsible for enforcing the peace.

New York City’s Department of Social Services spokesperson refused to confirm that the former hotel is actually a shelter for illegals, telling the New York Post that it cannot comment “to safeguard the privacy of vulnerable New Yorkers” and “social services beneficiaries residing at these locations.”

Marriott International has had enough after one of its New York City properties has agreed to be used as a migrant shelter. The multinational hospitality group has now sued the franchise for breach of contract.

Since the Biden-Harris border crisis began immediately following President Joe Biden’s inauguration, New York City, like many large urban centers in the US, has provided illegal immigrants with a variety of taxpayer-provided largesse. New York City is supplying free airline tickets to migrants to fly anywhere in the US. The city has turned a high school over to illegal immigrants and has offered prepaid debit cards to illegals as well.
