Vice President Kamala Harris will never be confused with a politician who supports police officers. In many ways, it legitimately can be argued that she views them as a problem. She developed this anti-police reputation during her time as a district attorney, attorney general, and senator. Throughout her time as a politician, she seemingly has favored doing more to prioritize the welfare of the criminal underclass than those willing to risk their lives to serve and protect communities from those very same people.
While police officers tried to take the bad guys off the streets, Harris diligently worked to keep them there. Her record shows that she was more effective in protecting criminals than protecting innocent people, as the Heritage Foundation previously highlighted. She viewed police officers as the problem in society, not the people plaguing communities with crime and murdering innocent people. She openly embraced the criminal justice philosophies and ideologies that led to the historical crime wave that plagued the country’s largest cities, many of which set records for violent crimes such as homicides and carjackings.
However, now that she is running for president, after voters rejected her during her first presidential campaign in 2020, Harris is attempting to rebrand herself as a political centrist. It’s deceptive and meant to swindle voters into supporting her presidential campaign. To say she is a metaphorical wolf in sheep’s clothing would be an understatement — and an insult to wolves. After all, Harris once said the country needed to reimagine security and that police officers on the street were an outdated way of thinking.
“I believe that we have to reimagine public safety in America,” Harris said during an interview with talk show host Trevor Noah in October 2020. “If we want to achieve safety, it is outdated thinking to think the way you’re going to do it is just put more cops on the street.”
It should be noted that Harris’s assertion that an increase in police does not increase public safety has been proven wrong. Government officials in areas that experienced record-breaking violent crime rates in the first half of Harris’s term as vice president, including fellow Democrats Gov. Wes Moore (D-MD) and District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser, surrendered to the realization that more police officers help reduce crime.
As a result, politicians who once promoted the kind of political philosophies on crime echoed by Harris eventually reversed course and implemented policies to “put more cops on the street” to fight crime. It is the preeminent example that shows just how ill-informed and misguided her radical beliefs are when it comes to protecting the innocent and ensuring the welfare of the public.
Harris helped make America dangerous again. She made people in the country less safe out of a destructive and misguided allegiance to political beliefs rather than common sense. No one should forget what she said or did during her time in office.

A wise quote attributed to poet Maya Angelou advises, “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.”
It’s sensible advice that voters should keep in mind regarding Harris.
