Special counsel Jack Smith's recycled indictment of Donald Trump ten weeks before the election underlines that the Biden Justice Department is engaged in election interference. It's a lie for the media to report or imply that these prosecutors are independent or nonpartisan, and that a reelected Trump will ruin the department's nonpartisanship.

ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS combined for 28 minutes of hype over Smith's latest filing, and allowed almost no one to criticize Smith for his shameless partisanship. Some aired old clips of Trump. NBC aired a new clip of J.D. Vance saying Smith should be ashamed of himself. 

But Democrats inside and outside the media leave the impression that Biden and his attorney general Merrick Garland have nothing to do with this prosecutorial plotting. The networks never mentioned their names as TV stars promoted its handiwork as a "stunning development."

Meanwhile, the Kamala Harris Twitter account is displaying a new advertisement. The tweet says: “Project 2025 is the blueprint for Trump to make himself the most powerful president ever. We can’t let him win.”

The only serious problem with that is that Donald Trump has energetically sought to separate himself from the Project 2025 manual and its creators at the Heritage Foundation. Look, this was compiled by Trump loyalists and veterans of the first Trump administration, so they clearly created a blueprint for Trump. But it’s plain now that he wants no ownership of it. So why would the Democrats still claim it does?
