On Monday, the third anniversary of the suicide bombing in Kabul, Afghanistan, former President Donald Trump attended a wreath laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery to honor the 13 United States service members who lost their lives, while Joe Biden and Kamala Harris merely issued written statements.

An ISIS-K suicide bomber detonated an explosive vest outside Hamid Karzai International Airport’s Abbey Gate on August 26, 2021, killing 13 U.S. military personnel and 170 Afghan civilians, as well as seriously injuring about 150 others.

The former president took part in a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, alongside family members of some of the soldiers who were killed in the bombing.

As Biden continued his  weeks-long vacation at his beach house in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, the Biden White House released a lengthy statement, saying in part: “These 13 Americans—and the many more that were wounded—were patriots in the highest sense. Some were born the year the war in Afghanistan started. Some were on their second or third tour. But all raised their hand to serve a cause greater than themselves—risking their own safety for the safety of their fellow Americans, Allies, and Afghan partners. They embodied the very best of who we are as a nation: brave, committed, selfless. And we owe them and their families a sacred debt we will never be able to fully repay, but will never cease working to fulfill.”

In her statement, Harris said “today and everyday, I mourn and honor them, ” adding: “My prayers are with their families and loved ones. My heart breaks for their pain and their loss. These 13 devoted patriots represent the best of America, putting our beloved nation and their fellow Americans above themselves and deploying into danger to keep their fellow citizens safe.”

Harris once again insisted that Biden “made the courageous and right decision to end America’s longest war.”

“Over the past three years, our Administration has demonstrated we can still eliminate terrorists, including the leaders of al-Qaeda and ISIS, without troops deployed into combat zones,” she said. “I will never hesitate to take whatever action necessary to counter terrorist threats and protect the American people and the homeland.”

Both Biden and Harris had no public events on their schedule Monday, the New York Post reported.

Harris stated in an interview with CNN in April 2021 that she was the “last person in the room” with Biden as he finalized his withdrawal strategy, and that she felt “comfortable” with the decision.

“He and I are in almost every meeting together, have made almost every decision together,” she told CNN’s Dana Bash at the time.

According to former National Security Council Senior Director Kash Patel, careful withdrawal plans had been drawn up by Trump’s team, and were offered to the Biden regime, but they were ignored.

As chief of staff to Trump’s Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller, Patel handled the Pentagon’s transition to the Biden administration. “I don’t even know that anyone could have made this awful scenario up. It’s literally worse than you could possibly conjure,” he said in an interview at the time.

“There’s no plan to secure our weaponry or machinery, we’re just giving it over to terrorists,” Patel fretted. “And there’s no plan to secure a Kabul International Airport so that at least flights can get in and out.”

While the disaster was still unfolding, on August 30, 2021, Biden gave an address to the nation taking credit for the “extraordinary success” of the evacuation from Afghanistan, despite the horrific suicide bombing, the colossal loss of military equipment, and the stranding  hundreds of American citizens, thousands of Afghan allies, and close to 50 service dogs behind enemy lines.

“The extraordinary success of this mission was due to the incredible skill, bravely(sic), and selfless courage of the United States military, and our diplomats, and intelligence perfessionals(sic),” Biden said in his 26-minute speech.

In the face of Biden’s attempts to gaslight the nation, Trump has repeatedly blasted Biden and Harris over the botched Afghanistan withdrawal, referring to it as the most “embarrassing moment” in the nation’s history.

“This month marks the third anniversary of the BOTCHED Afghanistan withdrawal, the most EMBARRASSING moment in the history of our Country,” Trump said in a video posted on social media Monday. “Three years ago, Kamala and Biden’s incompetence left 13 warriors dead, hundreds of civilians killed and grievously wounded and $85 billion of the finest military equipment on the planet abandoned … right into the hands of the Taliban,” he added. “It also left 45 incredible soldiers so badly wounded … the legs, the arms, the face … obliteration.”

Trump vowed to “never forget the supreme sacrifice” of the U.S. military members who lost their lives three years ago.

“The incompetence and weakness on display from the Biden-Harris administration was an insult to every soldier, sailor, airman, Marine who ever served in our U.S. military.” he stated.

“Today is a solemn day and terrible reminder of the failure of Harris and Biden to protect our standing in the world and the cost of that failure. Harris has proudly declared she was the last person in the room when she and Biden directed the botched withdrawal that cost the lives of Americans and our allies,” Trump adviser Brian Hughes told The Post in a statement. Hughes added: “the message to Americans is they should see the stark contrast of the Trump record to the Harris/Biden record on how we use the nation’s military might in the world.”

On Truth Social, Trump said the chaotic withdrawal projected American weakness and emboldened the nation’s adversaries.

“You don’t take our soldiers out first, you take them out LAST, when all else is successfully done. Russia then invaded Ukraine, Israel was attacked, and the USA became, and is, a laughing stock all over the World. THE FAKE NEWS MEDIA REMAINS SILENT IN ORDER TO PROTECT THE WORST ADMINISTRATION IN THE HISTORY OF OUR COUNTRY! MAGA2024.”

Gold Star families of the troops killed in Kabul have rivaled Trump’s vitriol in blasting the Biden regime for its botched withdrawal. In the months and years following the tragedy, the families have been quite vocal about Biden and Harris’ failures.

The father of Marine Lance Cpl. Jared Schmitz savaged Joe Biden on Capitol Hill one year ago, calling him an “asshole” and “disgrace to this nation” with “more American blood” on his hands “than any president in U.S. history.”

“Not a single person has been held accountable,” Mark Schmitz lamented. “Our so-called leader can’t seem to even utter their names in public, not even once.”

Another Gold Star dad, Steve Nikoui, was arrested and just charged with a misdemeanor last March for heckling Joe Biden during his angry and divisive State of the Union speech.

When Biden declared “all Americans deserve to be safe,” it was apparently too much for still grieving father of Marine Lance Cpl. Kareem Nikoui.

“Abbey Gate, Abbey Gate!” Nikoui yelled, in reference to the location of the bomb blast at the airport. After Biden said “it’s safer now than when I took office,” the enraged dad hollered “United States Marines!”

During the fateful June 27 presidential debate, which resulted in a weeks-long pressure campaign by Democrat operatives to bounce Biden off the ticket, Biden claimed that he was “the only president this century that doesn’t have any this – this decade, that doesn’t have any troops dying anywhere in the world, like [Trump] did.”

The Kabul Gold Star families reacted with outrage at Biden’s refusal to acknowledge their losses.

“It took all self restraint not to put my fist right through my TV,” Schmitz told The Post at the time. “I was beyond ticked off, disrespected,” he said. “That’s all we’ve ever gotten out of this president.”

Christy Shamblin, mother-in-law of Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee, took the stage at last month’s Republican National Convention to praise Trump’s response to the tragedy.

“While Joe Biden has refused to recognize their sacrifice, Donald Trump spent six hours in Bedminster with us,” Shamblin said in Milwaukee.

“He allowed us to grieve. He allowed us to remember our heroes,” she added.
