The very weird Kamala campaign consists of its lead actress appearing only in pre-staged clips while recruiting nearly every Democrat elected official to act as her surrogates and her excuse-makers.
That means they’re out there faced with the tough task of answering questions on her behalf.
I almost feel sorry for them. Almost. The trouble is that many of them are almost as unprincipled as her.
“The truth of the matter is, yes, she’s come to the middle. She’s pragmatic, she’s a tough leader, she’s the leader we need for the future,” Colorado Gov. Jared Polis told “Fox News Sunday.” “So again, while she may have in the past ran on things, just as President Trump ran on single-payer — supported single-payer health care years ago and has moved away from that — Kamala Harris did support things that she’s now moderated.”
An even more fumbling version of she was for those things before she was against them.
Kamala was for eliminating private health insurance, but she isn’t right now, will she change her mind again next week, who knows?
After being on the Left, she’s now in the middle. Or some version of the middle that is less leftist than her past full embrace of socialism as defined by people who think castrating boys and price controls is the middle.
What does Kamala actually believe?
Polis effectively argues that the question is irrelevant. Kamala, he implies has no principles. She’s “pragmatic”. And that’s pol-speak for non-ideological, willing to make deals and sell out anything. Being pragmatic, Kamala backed banning private health insurance when she was competing for leftist votes during the primaries, but now that she’s in a general election, she’s not for it. If Dems control the House and Senate, she may pragmatically decide to ban private health insurance again or shove everyone into a gulag.
Or that’s how Gov. Polis sees things. Since Kamala isn’t out there answering these questions, who knows. Just feel the joy.
