A left-wing organization that has been funded by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is promoting a $6 million “election grant program” from another left-wing group, thus raising further concerns about private money being spent on election procedures in 2024.

According to the Daily Caller, the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) has been encouraging election officials to participate in the grant from the Institute for Responsive Government (IRG), titled “A More Responsive Government 2024 Grant Program.” This was revealed by internal emails that were first reported by The Federalist.

“This new ‘grant’ program, ‘A More Responsive Government 2024 Grant Program,’ is just the latest scheme by the left-wing, nonprofit network to use progressive activist billionaires’ funding to influence election offices, implement the left-wing election administration agenda, and impact the outcome,” said Ned Jones, director of the Citizens Election Research Center. “These activities should be banned, like they have been in 28 states, in every state.”

In the 2020 election, CTCL spent over $350 million on election administration in multiple states across the country, primarily the swing states and with an overwhelming focus on blue cities and urban areas that heavily favor Democrats. That year, Zuckerberg himself donated at least $328 million to the CTCL, drawing widespread backlash that has led to the Facebook founder claiming that he will withdraw from any such political activity in this year’s election.

“We are sharing this program information with you, as we commonly do with other nonpartisan resources and funding opportunities that can help you do your work,” read the internal emails, in part.

IRG’s grants range from as low as $6,000 to as high as $1.35 million, and has funded states such as Michigan, Nevada, Minnesota, New Mexico, Colorado, Delaware, and Washington, D.C.

The IRG is supported by other far-left groups, including the New Venture Fund, which is funded by the likes of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, and the Ford Foundation, among others. The New Venture Fund operates other left-wing groups such as the Climate Fund, the Democracy Fund, and the Election Integrity Fund.
