Verdict: False

The claim is false. According to the original video of the rally, Trump was addressing a group of supporters from North Carolina who were in attendance.

Fact Check:

Trump took aim at 2024 Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris’ Democratic National Convention acceptance speech, according to Fox News. Trump said on TRUTH Social Harris didn’t mention the “big subjects,” including China, fracking, and the Russia-Ukraine War during her speech, the outlet reported.

The Threads video, which has received over 800 likes as of writing, claims Trump thought he was in North Carolina during a recent campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

“A little bit longer. How would you like it? A guy’s waiting with his family for three and a half, four days. They have a tent and the tent is set up. They have hundreds of them and they wait. And then I walk in, speak for 15 minutes, and leave. I don’t know, somehow — would that be OK, North Carolina? I don’t think so, right? They want me to speak all day,” Trump says in the video.

The claim is false. According to the original video of the rally, Trump was addressing a group of supporters from North Carolina who were in attendance. Trump’s comments begin at the video’s 7:48 mark.

“But I have another group from a place called North Carolina. Has anybody ever heard of North — we love North Carolina. The beautiful ladies over there. This is number, what — 217? So this is No. 217,” Trump begins. “And supposedly they’re happily married. How the hell does that work?” he adds, joking about the group of women’s husbands before thanking them for their support.

“They were with us from the beginning in 2016,” Trump says at the video’s 8:29 mark. Likewise, Trump’s comment that appears in the Threads clip begins at the original video’s 23:34 mark.

In addition, Trump has not publicly commented on the Threads video’s claim via his official website or his TRUTH Social account. Check Your Fact also did not find any credible news reports to support the claim. Actually, the opposite is true. On August 22, PolitiFact reported the claim was false, citing the original video of the rally with Trump’s comments in context.
