Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign announced Sunday it has raised $540 million in donations since she entered the presidential race last month.
The campaign said a surge of donations delivered $82 million during the Democratic National Convention last week in Chicago. It said it saw the most grassroots donations came Thursday immediately after Ms. Harris delivered her acceptance speech for the nomination.
The campaign also saw a surge in help from volunteers, with individuals signing up for 200,000 shifts.
“The Convention was a galvanizing moment for the Harris-Walz coalition throughout the country, energizing and mobilizing volunteer and grassroots donors alike,” campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon wrote in a memo.
It’s been just over a month since President Biden dropped out of the race and passed the torch to Ms. Harris, who selected Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate.
