Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. united on stage at a Turning Point Action rally in Arizona on Friday following Kennedy's earlier commitment to support Trump in the 2024 presidential election. Trump then vowed to establish a commission on presidential assassinations to review all documents related to the John F. Kennedy assassination as well as the assassination attempt on Trump.

Trump said that he gotten a call from Kennedy after the assassination attempt on his life last month. The GOP nominee then said that he would have Kennedy head an "independent presidential commission on assassination attempts. And they will be tasked with releasing all of the remaining documents pertaining to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy."

Kennedy was a special guest of the rally, and walked on stage with fireworks lighting up. "He's a very low-key person. But he's highly respected," Trump said to introduce Kennedy. "He is a great person. I've known him for so long."

“For the past 16 months, Bobby has run an extraordinary campaign for President of the United States. I know, because he also went after me a couple of times,” Trump added.

The crowd roared as Kennedy took to the stage in Arizona. Trump said he did not think anyone else has gotten applause like Kennedy got as the independent candidate walked onstage.

Following Trump's introduction, Kennedy made the pitch to voters to support Trump in the 2024 election. "Don't you want a president who is going to protect America's freedoms and who is going to protect us against totalitarianism? Don't you want a safe environment for your children? Don't you want a president that's going to make America healthy again?" Kennedy told the audience.

Ahead of the rally, Kennedy held a press conference where he informed the public that he would be suspending his campaign as well as removing his name from 10 battleground states throughout the country.

He commented at the time, "Three great causes ... persuaded me to leave the Democratic Party, to throw my support to President Trump," he said in his speech. The three issues that inspired him to support Trump were the causes of "free speech, the war in Ukraine, [and the] war on our children."

The "war on our children" in the country, Kennedy addressed, was chronic diseases in the United States and revealed that Trump and he had met before to discuss the topic while Vice President Kamala Harris would not even agree to speak or connect with him. Trump floated the idea of joining forces as a "unity party" in order to bring the issue to the forefront of US policy.
