After spending millions to keep him off the ballot, the Democratic National Committee released a memo Friday dismissing the potential impact Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s endorsement of Donald Trump will have on the presidential race. The DNC claimed, without evidence, that the only reason Kennedy was in the race was to be a spoiler candidate to help former President Trump, but derided him as “a near-negligible factor” with “no meaningful base of support.”

Kennedy’s stated reasons for entering the race was to “reverse the chronic disease epidemic, end the war machine, clean corporate influence out of government and toxic pollution out of the environment, protect freedom of speech, and end politicization of enforcement agencies.”

It appears that Kennedy‘s message had strong appeal among right-leaning Independent voters.

His running mate, tech entrepreneur Nicole Shanahan, said in an interview earlier this week that the campaign was concerned that by staying in, they could be a spoiler for Harris and that she had not “put in tens of millions of dollars to be a spoiler candidate.”

Kennedy is set to make an announcement about his campaign at 2:30 p.m. ET Friday from Phoenix  in a livestreamed press conference. Rumors have swirled since Wednesday that he has decided to drop out and endorse Trump.

The former president said he would be “honored” to have Kennedy’s endorsement, and announced last night that his rally in nearby Glendale, Arizona at 4:00 MT Friday will feature a “special guest.”

The DNC memo purported, again without evidence, that Trump was “at a low point and acting out of desperation.”

“Embracing RFK Jr. now —when he has nothing to offer but months of disqualifying revelations—is not a decision a campaign makes when they’re acting from a position of strength.”

The memo went on to accuse RFK Jr. as having an “unsavory and reckless past, ties to MAGA donors, and MAGA-lite positions on abortion bans and January 6th pardons,” and assert that “his support has dwindled to make him a near-negligible factor.”

“The little support that remains is soft, split across ideologies, and disproportionately among lower propensity voters. With no meaningful base of support and sky-high negatives among Democrats, RFK Jr.’s threat to VP Harris was neutralized,” the DNC memo stated.

The DNC memo argued Kennedy could actually hurt Trump because of his allegedly “controversial” positions on the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, the Sept. 11 attacks and vaccines.

RFK Jr. on Thursday released a video “to set the record straight” on his position on the safety of vaccines, which he acknowledges is “probably the most controversial issue” of his campaign.

The party stated that Democrats “will continue to hold other third party candidates accountable and educate voters about the clear choice between VP Harris and Donald Trump.”  Indeed, the party of “Democracy”  has gone scorched earth against third party candidates like Kennedy and Green Party candidate Jill Stein this year to keep them off of state ballots.

Trump, who spoke with Kennedy on the phone during the Republican National Convention, is reportedly open to giving Kennedy a role in his administration, possibly in the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or National Institutes of Health (NIH).
