The Manhattan pizzeria worker mauled by an irate customer’s pitbull during a savage Monday beatdown is still comatose and hooked to a respirator — as a judge hit his alleged attacker with a hefty bail during his Wednesday arraignment.

Manhattan prosecutors asked that Tyshaun Watson, a National Guard member and hospitality worker from Secaucus, New Jersey, be held on $250,000 cash/$500,000 insurance or partially-secured bond for his alleged crimes against Zakaira El Sherief, which include second-degree attempted murder.

Judge Simiyon Haniff granted the request, but added that he was surprised prosecutors wanted any bail at all.

“These are serious allegations,” Haniff said at the hearing. “This man’s in the hospital intubated, and that is serious. I’m surprised the people aren’t asking for remand based on the condition of the complaining witness at this juncture.”

Defense attorneys said Watson, 35, lives with his significant other and works as a senior sales manager at a hotel on Fifth Avenue, where he sells blocks of rooms to wedding parties and other big groups.

Watson is also a chemical specialist in the National Guard and the father of a 10-year-old boy, attorneys said. He worked for Apple before he was laid off during the pandemic, they added.

Meanwhile, El Sherief was described by colleagues and customers as a nice man who’s friendly with everyone.

“I came by this morning to get an update on his condition,” Cleuza Marcondes, a 60-year-old woman who regularly patronizes the pizza joint, told The Post on Wednesday.

“He is such a nice man. He is very generous to everyone, so nice to everyone,” she continued. “He sits down with me and talks about Italy because he lived there for years. He is from Egypt but his wife and two children are in Italy right now.”

“He is so gentle and nice,” she added. “It is a terrible thing that this happened.”
