Vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, a Democrat, allegedly lectured high school pupils on the purported benefits of communism after receiving incredibly favorable treatment while he was in China.

Walz was a social studies teacher at the high school in Alliance, Nebraska, where he lived in November 1991. Walz included lessons on Chinese culture in his curricula, misleadingly claiming that the country’s communist political system was inherently just.

“There is cause for concern regarding potential CCP influence on Governor Walz’s decision-making as governor and, if elected, as vice president, given his prolonged involvement with CCP leaders and entities during his tenure in public office.”

According to archival Alliance Times-Herald reports, Walz stated at the time, “It means that everyone is the same and everyone shares.”

“Both the doctor and the builder have the same income. In addition to housing, the Chinese government and the organization they work for distribute 14 kg, or around 30 pounds, of rice each month. The government provides them with food and lodging.

Apparently, Walz fell in love with China and the policies of the Chinese Communist Party throughout his roughly thirty visits to the nation, starting in 1989, a few months after the horrifying killings of university students and pro-democracy demonstrators in Tiananmen Square.

At the time, Walz was a 25-year-old Minnesota Army National Guard soldier. Walz, a 25-year-old Minnesota Army National Guard soldier, traveled to China to teach English. The Washington Free Beacon reports that at the time, he penned a letter complaining about being “pampered like a king.”

Indeed, he was.

As a teacher, Walz earned twice as much money as his native Chinese colleagues. He also received the only furnished, air-conditioned dorm on campus with a color TV.

The Chinese hosted parties for him to mark important events like his birthday and Christmas. Gwen, his wife, even got married on the fifth anniversary of the Tiananmen Square tragedy in order to give Walz “a day he’ll always remember.”

“I won’t receive such good treatment no matter how long I live,” he declared to the Alliance Times-Herald upon his return to the United States. “I couldn’t possibly bring home all the things they offered me. It was a wonderful experience.

Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), head of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, described the CCP’s “tactic of elite capture” as this “great experience.”

Comer described this tactic as efforts “to co-opt significant persons in elite political, cultural, and intellectual circles to influence the United States to the benefit of the communist dictatorship and the harm of Americans.” in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray sent last week.

It’s a sort of “political and psychological warfare,” Comer added.

Comer stated that there are concerns over potential CCP influence on Governor Walz’s decision-making as governor and, if elected, as vice president, given the reports of his substantial interactions with CCP officials and organizations while holding public office.

To avoid giving the impression that Comer’s letter is a biased assault, a few Democrats have emphasized Walz’s vast expertise in China as a political advantage for the 2024 race.

Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) gushed about Walz’s Mandarin speaking skills at a DNC Asian-American and Pacific Islander Caucus meeting earlier this week. Takano predicted that Walz would become America’s “first Chinese vice president,” akin to Bill Clinton’s previous status as the “first black president.”
