Former President Donald Trump had one key question when asked about criticism of his decision to visit the so-called “KKK Capital of Michigan.”
During a trip to Howell, Michigan, on Tuesday, a reporter asked Trump, “Kamala Harris has attacked you for being in this town because it’s associated with white supremacy…”
The former president responded with one question, “Who was here in 2021?”
“Joe Biden,” the reporter responded.
Trump laughed and said, “Thank you, everybody.”
He then walked away.

In a statement, the Harris campaign blasted the decision to visit the town, which it labeled the “KKK Capitol of Michigan.” Harris campaign communications director Alyssa Bradley said, “This [Tuesday] event on ‘crime and safety’ isn’t a dog whistle from Trump — it’s a bullhorn.”
“His visit underscores the core choice in this election — between a prosecutor and a criminal, someone who has spent her life making communities safer and someone who encourages violence, and someone who will build a future where all Michiganders can get ahead and someone who wants to take us back to the days of the KKK, she continued.”
Reuters reported of the town, “The town has historical links to the KKK: In the 1970s, Grand Dragon Robert Miles had a Howell mailing address and held meetings on a nearby farm.”
“About a dozen white supremacists chanted ‘Heil Hitler’ and carried signs reading ‘White Lives Matter’ during a march through downtown Howell last month. According to local media, another group of demonstrators shouted, ‘We love Hitler, we love Trump’ from a highway overpass just outside Howell,” it added.
