The broadcast networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC wear vibing during Night Two of the Democratic National Convention on Tuesday, letting themselves be swept up in the “ecstasy” of the “dance party” that occurred during the fake roll call vote to nominate Vice President Kamala Harris. They let their façade of objectivity slip as they lost themselves in the nirvana of being surrounded by people who they agreed with politically.
ABC senior national correspondent Terry Moran was the worst. Seemingly caught off guard by anchor David Muir throwing to him for analysis, Moran couldn’t find the words as he stammered for a moment before blurting out his admiration for “Just the ecstasy that just happened.”
Moran proceeded to joyfully recall the Democratic roll call of state delegates, calling it “the best party” he’s been to in “awhile”:
I’ve seen a lot of roll calls; I’ve never seen anything like that. I tell you, it was the best party I’ve been to in a while, but I don’t go to many parties. It was the best party they had. And the significance of that is the energy they will need to fight.
I talked to a lot of delegates and they say the same thing: “Yes, this is a great time but we got to go back into the trenches and carry this into the ground game, into raising money in order to win. What they know is going to be a fiercely fought election.
Just before Moran had to be yanked out of his stupor, ABC senior congressional correspondent Rachel Scott the roll call as “really a dance party!”
“I can tell you. Lil Jon made his way down this aisle not too long before we came on the air, David! It turned into quite the dance party here on the convention floor,” she boasted.
Over on CBS, anchor Norah O’Donnell was also enthralled by festivities:
But just having one party is not enough for the Democrats, they are having two parties tonight! The other party is in Wisconsin. And that is where senior White House correspondent Weijia Jiang is tonight. She is traveling with the Vice President because there is another large rally there.
“Norah, we might be 90 miles away from you in Chicago, but the electricity and the energy that you guys are talking about, we can feel it in this room at the form right here in Milwaukee,” touted CBS senior White House correspondent Weijia Jiang. “And those bracelets are shining bright here, as well.”
Like a moth to the flame, NBC chief White House correspondent Peter Alexander also couldn’t take his eyes off the shiny bracelets. “I’ve been struck, not just by the electricity, it’s almost battery powered here. They’ve all been wearing those Taylor Swift-like bracelets that light up,” he commended them.

RACHEL SCOTT: It was really a dance party! I can tell you. Lil Jon made his way down this aisle not too long before we came on the air, David! It turned into quite the dance party here on the convention floor.
And really a sigh of relief for delegates and so many Democrats who were concerned that after President Biden dropped out of the race, they had some concerns about whether or not this party was going to unify behind Vice President Kamala Harris, but that is exactly what is happening here tonight, David.
DAVID MUIR: Rachel Scott, thank you. We’ll be checking back with you throughout the evening. Terry Moran also on the floor. Terry, what do you make from your vantage point?
TERRY MORAN: Just the ecstasy that just happened. I’ve seen a lot of roll calls; I’ve never seen anything like that. I tell you, it was the best party I’ve been to in a while, but I don’t go to many parties. It was the best party they had. And the significance of that is the energy they will need to fight.

NORAH O’DONNELL: But just having one party is not enough for the Democrats, they are having two parties tonight! The other party is in Wisconsin. And that is where senior White House correspondent Weijia Jiang is tonight. She is traveling with the Vice President because there is another large rally there. Weijia, tell us about where you are and what’s the strategy?
WEIJIA JIANG: Norah, we might be 90 miles away from you in Chicago, but the electricity and the energy that you guys are talking about, we can feel it in this room at the form right here in Milwaukee. And those bracelets are shining bright here, as well.
As you mentioned a little bit earlier, this is the very arena where former President Donald Trump accepted the Republican nomination last month.
