President Donald Trump said he'd consider RFK Jr. for a spot in his administration if the presidential contender quit his own campaign and endorsed him. Speaking to CNN on Tuesday, Trump said "I like him a lot. I respect him a lot. I probably would, if something like [an endorsement] would happen."

The question came after RFK Jr.'r running mate Nicole Shanahan said that quitting the race and endorsing Trump was one of the options the campaign was considering. The other option would be to stay in the race.

"There’s two options that we’re looking at, and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and [Tim] Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump," Shanahan told Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu. Or, she continued, "We walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump … and we explain to our base why we’re making this decision."

During the interview, Shanahan said that the RFK Jr. campaign had been talking with the Trump campaign, and that "What we are hearing from the Trump camp is very positive."

While the two men have differences of perspective on policies, RFK Jr. has spoken out against the Biden-Harris' administration's political prosecution of the former president.

"I'd say this was probably the weakest case people brought against him," Kennedy said at the time Trump was convicted of 34 counts of falsification of business records, something that is usually charged as misdemeanor offense.

"My belief is that it will end up helping President Trump among a large part of [the] American public who believes that the judicial system, the enforcement system, have been weaponized against [him] politically. That's bad for our country," he continued.

"And I think it's a mistake for the Democratic Party," RFK Jr. said. "I think the Democratic Party believes it has a candidate that can't beat President Trump and that they need to do it in the court, and I think that's bad for our country, I think it's bad for democracy, and I think it's politically going to backfire on them."
