Speaking during his campaign rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump sounded off on Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign strategy, namely her avoidance of the press and seeming unwillingness to be in situations where she would have to answer questions from the press for a whopping 27 days.

Mocking Harris for that and arguing that it is ridiculous that she’s avoiding questions from the press, former President Trump joked that Harris’s hiding strategy is similar to when, during the 2020 presidential campaign, then-former VP Biden generally avoided being in the public eye and campaigned from his “basement.”

Joking about Harris’s awkward laugh to the crowd during the Wilkes-Barre rally, Trump said, “She has been prohibited from laughing, you know, she used to do an interview, she’d go, ‘Ha, ha, ha, ha.’ Who the hell laughs at an interview like that? You know I’m interviewed all the time. I may smile. I’m either asking you questions about things….it’s not like a comedy club.”

Continuing, Trump went on to make even more jokes about Harris’s awful laugh, blaming it for her avoidance of interviews. He said, “She’d break out….that’s one of the reasons she refuses to do interviews, I think, because she laughs. It’s so horrible. No, it’s so horrible. You know, she hasn’t done an interview, like, in 30 days or something like that, and I do one every day.”

The former president then got to the part about this being Kamala’s way of campaigning from a basement like with Biden during 2020, saying, “Don’t you sort of have an obligation, you know, you’re running. They’re going to try, ‘This is her form of the basement.’ Now the basement for him was good, because, you know, they had COVID, they didn’t want him to catch COVID… he ended up catching it anyway.”

Trump also said, joking about Harris’s laugh and what it shows about her, “This woman is nuts. Look, people say ‘be nice.’ Have you heard her laugh? That is the laugh of a crazy person. That’s the laugh of a lunatic. They prohibited her from laughing. I’ve been waiting for her to laugh because as soon as she laughs the election’s over.”

Posting on Truth Social, Trump focused on crime and the left’s seeming unwillingness to combat crime, saying, “CRIME IN AMERICA IS OUT OF CONTROL. I AM GOING TO MAKE IT, ALONG WITH THE ECONOMY, INFLATION, STRONG BORDERS, AND ENERGY DOMINANCE, MY TOP PRIORITY. THE DEMOCRATS ARE HOLDING THEIR CONVENTION IN CHICAGO IN ORDER TO SHOWCASE IT, AND YET 117 PEOPLE WERE SHOT, 17 KILLED, ON THE FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND, AND 40 WERE SHOT THIS WEEKEND. THAT IS A WAR ZONE, AND WILL BE HANDLED ACCORDINGLY.”

Continuing in that post, the former president added that he will fix it, saying, “I WILL BRING CRIME IN AMERICA DOWN TO A TINY FRACTION OF WHAT IT IS TODAY. MOTHERS WILL NO LONGER BE LOSING THEIR CHILDREN BECAUSE WEAK, LIBERAL POLITICIANS HAVE GIVEN UP ON SECURING A CRIME FREE USA!!! I WILL STOP VIOLENT CRIME IN AMERICA!!!”
