It would seem that nobody was injured and no famous artworks were destroyed in Saturday’s fire. It happened at a time of day where the public would be around to record it for online posting.

1776 is the year in which construction work on the current building began, according to Wikipedia, confirming the tweets below. The US Declaration of Independence was also signed in the same year, signifying the 13 American colonies achieving their political independence from Britain.

Note the posting below celebrating Lord Jacob Rothschild on the Somerset House website, who allegedly passed in February of this year —
