GOP nominee Donald Trump delivered a fiery speech at a campaign rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, where he slammed Vice President Kamala Harris as a “communist” for her economic policies and promised that if he is elected he will restore the American Dream.

Trump labeled Harris as a "communist" and predicted that, "80 days from now, we’re going to defeat a communist known as Kamala Harris." He went on to label her as the most radical leftist to ever run for office.

The GOP candidate continued this line of attack by pointing to Harris' recent economic plan unveiled this week, which includes implementing price controls on goods. Trump likened these policies to communist and socialist countries like the Soviet Union and Venezuela, referring to Harris as "comrade Kamala."

"It will cause rationing, hunger, and sky-rocketing prices, just like their Inflation Reduction Act caused," Trump argued. Harris signed the tie-breaking vote for the act in Congress before Biden signed the bill into law in August 2022. 

“Under Kamala Harris and crooked Joe Biden the American Dream was dead,” Trump declared. “If we win, we’re going to have the American Dream alive all for your beautiful children… the American Dream will be back with us.”

Trump blamed the Biden-Harris administration’s policies for causing "horrific inflation," decimating the middle class, and gutting the finances of millions of American families. "Everyone in this room has been devastated by what they’ve done," he added. During his speech, Trump pledged to fix the economic problems caused by the Biden-Harris administration.

He also pointed out hypocrisy within the Democratic Party when Harris became the nominee without receiving a single vote in the primary, arguing that this maneuver represents a real "threat to democracy," a charge often levied against him by his opponents.
