Judge Abena Darkeh presided over the trial of Dexter Taylor, a Brooklyn man who took up the hobby of making firearms. Darkeh shamefully stated that the “2nd Amendment doesn’t exist in this courtroom” and after interrupting the defense numerous times, banned Taylor’s defense attorney from even mentioning that part of the Bill of Rights. The biased judge sentenced him to 10 years in prison for doing something that Americans have done for centuries.

Judge Darkeh is one of the symptoms of the current climate of Political persecutions…oops, prosecutions.  Blue states in particular are ignoring Supreme Court rulings and doing whatever they want regarding your rights. The Bruen decision should have precluded this travesty.

The jury found Taylor guilty of second-degree criminal possession of a loaded weapon, four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, five counts of criminal possession of a firearm, second-degree criminal possession of five or more firearms, unlawful possession of pistol ammunition, violation of certificate of registration, prohibition on unfinished frames or receivers. Two lesser charges, including third-degree criminal possession of three or more firearms and third-degree possession of a weapon, were not voted on.

Taylor, a 52-year-old New York native and a software engineer, discovered the world of gunsmithing years ago. He decided to take it up as a hobby and possibly turn it into a business later. However, when a joint ATF/NYPD task force discovered he was legally buying parts from various companies, they opened up an investigation that led to a SWAT raid and arrest.  Red State

Mr. Taylor has no criminal record. He has never harmed anyone. The defense witnesses were not allowed to testify in his behalf. It was the epitome of a kangaroo court with the prosecution inferring that Mr. Taylor was extremely dangerous and creating a “horror” in his machine shop.

In this blue state saga, Mr. Taylor is the bad guy when he is not. Will the Supreme Court take up his case and reverse this ridiculous decision? We sincerely hope so. This link is to a GiveSendGo account to help him with legal expenses. Judge Darkeh should be removed from the bench. Permanently.
