The widow of Corey Comperatore, who was tragically killed during the rally in Buttler, has been invited to come on stage at Donald Trump’s second rally at the location. A gunman opened fire to assassinate Trump, but fatally shot Corey on July 13 at the same location.
Helen Comperatore, Corey’s widow, recently spoke in an interview with Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 about her late husband and the impact of his loss.
"He was just a wonderful man, and I want everybody to try not to remember him as the man that was shot at the rally," Helen said. "Just try to remember Corey as, he was a great man that was a great father. He was a great husband."
The couple had been married for 29 years and had known each other since childhood, beginning their relationship in high school. They had two daughters who were also present at the rally. During the shooting, Corey heroically shielded his wife and daughters from the gunfire.
In the interview, Helen revealed that she was invited to attend Trump’s next rally in Butler, scheduled for October. However, she expressed that her decision to go on stage would depend on the security measures in place at the event.
