2024 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump announced on Friday the members of the Trump-Vance 2025 transition team, which includes his sons, JD Vance, as well as other supporters of the GOP nominee.
His transition team will be co-chaired by Linda McMahon, who previously served as head of the Small Business Administration under Trump, and head of financial firm Cantor Fitzgerald, Howard Lutnick.
Serving as honorary chairs of the team are Senator JD Vance (R-OH), who Trump selected to be his running mate, and Trump’s sons Donald Trump Jr and Eric Trump.
"The 2024 GOP Platform to Make America Great Again is a forward-looking agenda that will deliver safety, prosperity and freedom for the American people. My administration will deliver on these bold promises," Trump said in a statement. "We will restore strength, competence and common sense to the Oval Office. I have absolute confidence the Trump-Vance Administration will be ready to govern effectively on Day One."
According to The Hill, Lutnick hosted a fundraiser for Trump in the Hamptons in early August, and McMahon leads the America First Policy Institute, a pro-Trump think tank. McMahon is also the co-founder of World Wrestling Entertainment Inc (WWE).
A transition team oversees planning for a new administration ahead of the election, with tasks that include vetting candidates for cabinet posts and appointee jobs throughout the federal government as well as developing a policy agenda, Bloomberg reports.
