A Los Angeles smoke shop owner fought off a crew of would-be thieves Tuesday after the suspects drove their car through the front of the business.
The owner and another employee at CoCo ToBaCCo threw a mop wringer at two burglars who went into the wrecked storefront following the crash, according to surveillance footage obtained by KTLA.
The video showed two suspects fleeing the parking lot where two more suspects were waiting, and one of the would-be burglars hopped in the group’s getaway car and sped off.
L.A. cops’ quick response was captured by the cameras and even picked up an officer shouting “Hands up” to one of the lingering suspects.
The owner, who wasn’t identified by KTLA, said two people connected to the incident were arrested. Police haven’t commented on who may have been taken into custody.
Surveillance footage showed the thieves position the getaway car in one part of the parking lot, then use another car to plow through the business’ security gate and front door.
CoCo ToBaCCo’s owner estimated that the break-in will cost him $20,000 in repairs.
