Elon Musk responded on Sunday to a report that Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf is considering legal action against him after he accused Yousaf of being “super racist” and said that he “loathes white people.”

“He’s obviously super racist against white people. I dare that scumbag to sue me. Go ahead, make my day,” Musk said. 

“Legal discovery will show that however big a racist he’s been in public communications, he is vastly worse in private communications,” he added.

On Thursday, Yousaf spoke at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where he labeled Musk as "one of the most dangerous men on the planet.” The comment was due to widespread dissatisfaction, particularly among leaders in the UK, against Musk for refusing to crack down on the content posted on X. Musk has reaffirmed his stance that X is a platform for free speech despite pressure from leaders like Yousaf who argue Musk has "amplified" so-called disinformation.

In response to these comments, Musk on Friday reacted to an old clip of Yousaf complaining about how a majority of leaders in the UK are white. Musk claimed that Yousaf, who is Scottish-born but the son of first-generation Pakistani immigration, “loathes white people.” 

“This is obvious, because he has never complained about the race of any other country’s leadership,” Musk explained. “There are over 200 countries in the world, most of whom have single-race leadership. Why is he only attacking Scotland?”

Yousaf is now reportedly “considering all options” including legal action against Musk, according to the Sunday Mail. His lawyer, Aamer Anwar, stated that “Anybody who goes on social media, even if they own the platform and thinks that free speech is absolute whether in the UK or USA, needs to think again. Free speech carries responsibility and if you break the law there are consequences, as we have seen in recent days.”

“Elon Musk has effectively painted a target on Humza Yousaf’s back with his completely unacceptable, untrue and inflammatory comments,” Anwar added.
