Vice President Kamala Harris told her audience at an Arizona rally on Friday evening that the immigration policies of the country are "broken" and that she plans on fixing it if she becomes president. This comes as criticism of Harris' job on the border as part of the Biden-Harris administration has ticked up since she became the Democratic nominee for the 2024 election, with many calling back to her being appointed as the "border czar" for the White House.

Harris touted her record of being the Attorney General of California in the prosecution of criminal activity related to illegal immigration and then added. "We know our immigration system is broken, and we know what it takes to fix it."

"Comprehensive reform that includes strong border security and an earned pathway to citizenship," she added. Although Harris said that her record as the AG of California qualifies her to help with the immigration policies at the border, under the Biden-Harris administration, the issue has been nothing short of an ongoing crisis, with record illegal immigration and people pouring into the country.

In July, the Biden-Harris administration was forced to pause the controversial immigration "parole" program, that allows 30,000 foreign nationals to flow in a month from the countries of Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. The program had been widely plagued with fraudulent immigrant sponsorship applications. Additionally, the program has allowed criminals into the country despite promises from the White House of vetting those in the program.

As San Francisco’s district attorney, Harris also championed sanctuary cities during her tenure and ran on the issue during her campaign, leading to several criminal acts committed in the city. The Friday rally in Arizona where she spoke was "invitation only" and not open to the public. Attendees received emails the day before and were required to RSVP until the event was at capacity.
