Kamala Harris became visibly angry on Wednesday when her rally in Detroit was interrupted by pro-Hamas protesters. Members of the group "Uncommitted" began shouting multiple times, leading to Harris scowling and chastizing them as wanting Donald Trump to win the election.

It was an awkward moment for a candidate who has remained completely insulated and free of any adversarial confrontations since she became the presumptive nominee. Her supporters quickly sought to spin the exchange as an example of her toughness, claiming she demonstrated what a tough woman who takes charge looks like.
Oh my god I started crying, ugly crying, I have waited all my life to see a powerful woman taken seriously, standing tall ready to lead this powerful country. It was an emotional moment after so many years of wishing and waiting, I hear that glass shattering its a beautiful sound

There's always more to the story, though. According to The New York Times, Harris actually met with these protesters (or at least representatives of their group) prior to the rally. During that exchange, she was much less "take charge." Instead, she coddled them, suggesting she would be open to the idea of an arms embargo against Israel and directing her staff to set up a subsequent meeting.
Harris put on a show for the cameras, but in private, she once again tossed an American ally under the bus to appease terrorist supporters.
Here is some better news from NYT: Kamala Harris reportedly met with the co-founders of Uncommitted before the rally and indicated that she was open to an arms embargo towards Israel, then introduced those activists to members of her staff.

It's yet another testament to how inauthentic Harris is. Like in 2020, she continues to try to be all things to all people. Unfortunately, she's getting away with it because the press is so subservient, allowing her to not answer any questions on any topics. Thus, the online information stream is allowed to be contradictory for Harris without any consequence. One segment of her supporters can cheer her lashing out at the protesters while another can cheer her patting them on the head.

Still, there's evidence that alliance is built on a foundation of sand.

Regardless, what this outburst shows is Harris can still be rattled and thrown off her game. The only reason that hasn't been apparent since her presidential campaign launch is that she's been so scripted. She's done zero interviews, answered zero questions, and has had no off-the-cuff moments. We just saw one, and it didn't exactly play well outside of her most adamant fans. Some in the press are even starting to grumble about her lack of accessibility.
How long can she keep this facade up? That's the question. The election is only three months away, but at the same time, it's three months away. That's a long time to stay on teleprompter and not make any mistakes.
