The party of “decarceration” during the feverish Summer of George Floyd now wants Americans to fall in love with the “tough on crime” career prosecutor it anointed as its presidential nominee. But the Kamala Harris campaign will have a hard time making the case. An extensive paper and money trail highlights the vice president’s contributions to a once-fashionable “criminal justice reform” agenda more painfully out of date than those directional arrows placed on so many store floors during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Before I was elected vice president, before I was elected United States senator, I was elected attorney general of the state of California,” Harris said outside Milwaukee on July 23 in her first public appearance since President Joe Biden announced he would not seek re-election. “And I was a courtroom prosecutor before then. And in those roles, I took on perpetrators of all kinds.”

She was setting herself up for a zinger.

“Predators who abused women, fraudsters who ripped off consumers, cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain. So, hear me when I say: I know Donald Trump’s type,” Harris exclaimed.

As far as electioneering goes, it’s more grist for the anger mills to drive a blue base that loathes the former president and 2024 Republican nominee. In terms of winning over independent and undecided voters, however, it’s a road fraught with danger.

AG Harris Target: The Police

Harris’ PC watering down of law enforcement capabilities dates back well before the Floyd cause celebre of 2020. In 2015, California Attorney General Harris implemented what her office touted as the first implicit bias training program for police officers in America.

“The training course, titled ‘Principled Policing: Procedural Justice and Implicit Bias,’ is the result of a collaborative partnership between the California Department of Justice, the Commission on Peace Officers Standards and Training, the Stockton and Oakland Police Departments, Stanford University and the California Partnership for Safe Communities,” an official statement from Harris’s office read.

California Partnership for Safe Communities is a criminal justice reform organization bankrolled by leftist philanthropy Arnold Ventures. Founded by Texas billionaire John Arnold, a former Enron executive, Arnold Ventures pours millions into similar causes across the US.

‘Wrote the Book’ on Criminal Justice Reform

Harris has always closely orbited the big-money whales that control Democrat politics. These donors have been at the forefront of a now-politically embarrassing decarceration agenda exemplified by the soft-on-crime district attorneys elected in major cities across America via major funding from notorious globalist billionaire George Soros.

Harris was on hand for that as well.

“Sen. Kamala Harris [D-CA] and billionaire philanthropist and hedge fund manager George Soros appear to be aligned politically in the Sacramento County district attorney’s race,” The Sacramento Bee reported in 2018. “Harris [has] endorsed a local prosecutor challenging incumbent Sacramento County District Attorney Anne Marie Schubert, who has come under fire by protesters in the wake of the Stephon Clark shooting,” the paper continued. “The challenger is Noah Phillips, a Democrat and county prosecutor who has similar views as Harris on the issue of racial bias in policing.”

“Soros backed Harris in her 2016 Senate run, donating $5,400 to her campaign. And he’s contributed heavily to Phillips,” The Bee noted.

Soros-supported Phillips, in turn, hailed Soros-supported Harris as a police-reform mentor.

“Phillips . . . has run on a ‘smart-on-crime’ platform heavy on themes of police accountability and criminal justice reform,” The Bee related in May 2018. “He says Harris, a Democrat who served as California attorney general before heading to Washington, DC, ‘wrote the book on ‘smart-on-crime.’”

Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings is all-in on Harris in 2024, donating $7 million to a PAC linked to her, Business Insider reported on July 24. Leftist philanthropist Quinn Delaney has been a “key backer” of Harris “over the last two-plus decades,” The New York Times states.

Here’s what else these two wealthy donors like.

Ousted San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin and Los Angeles County DA George Gascon are two of the most infamous radical prosecutors carried into office on a sea of Soros money.

“Delaney, alongside three other California-based donors, poured millions into electing into electing the two prosecutors in 2020,” The Daily Caller relates. “Hastings and his wife Patty Quillin donated $1.75 million to support Gascon.”

These are the ideological and money trees to which “career prosecutor” Harris is firmly tied. Her public record reflects it.

In 2019, “Harris announced a legislative proposal aimed at ending cash bail, legalizing marijuana, and eliminating minimum sentencing, among other measures,” The Federalist details. “In June 2020, Harris co-authored a bill to severely limit qualified immunity for law enforcement and lower the standard of proof in police misconduct cases.”

If the perpetually reinvented Kamala Harris does indeed seek to hang her hat on being a stout crime fighter in the coming general election campaign, there is an avalanche of ammunition in her background just waiting for her political opponents to uncover and exploit.
