A post shared on social media purportedly shows actor Ryan Reynolds wearing a shirt in support of Vice President Kamala Harris.

Verdict: False

The photo is altered.

Fact Check:

“Deadpool & Wolverine” is now officially the highest grossing R-rated film of all time, previously a title held by “The Passion of the Christ,” ABC News reported. The film has made over $800 million in ticket sales and far surpassed its predecessors, according to the outlet.

A post shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, purportedly shows Reynolds wearing a shirt in support of Harris. The shirt resembles the logo of Tide laundry detergent with Kamala’s name replacing that of the brand.

Text on the shirt reads, “Removes Nasty Orange Stains.”

Several comments took the image seriously. One comment reads, “Another reason to love Ryan Reynolds.”

The claim is inaccurate. The image appears to be digitally altered to show Reynolds supporting Harris.

There is no such photo found on any of Reynolds social media accounts. The altered image shows Reynolds with a tattoo on his left forearm, however other photos show no such tattoo.  (RELATED: What We Know About Kamala Harris’ Stance On Defunding The Police)

While Reynolds has not publicly endorsed a candidate for this year’s election, he has spoken on American politics previously. When asked about former President Donald Trump, Reynolds responded that they do not share the same ideals in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Though, other celebrities have shared their support for Harris. Mark Hamill, George Clooney and Spike Lee are among those who have voiced support for the Vice President, OK Magazine reported. Former first lady Michelle Obama and former President Barack Obama have done the same, and are endorsements that are more likely to help Harris get more votes, according to Fox 5.

This is not the first time celebrities have been the center of misinformation. Check Your Fact recently debunked a claim Hulk Hogan landed a $500 million deal with Samsung after his appearance at the Republican National Convention.
