Freddie Freeman and his wife Chelsea had some positive news to share about their son Maximus after the 3-year-old had to be hospitalized last week with a severe case of Guillain-Barré syndrome.

The Freemans posted on Instagram Sunday night that Maximus had finally come home after spending eight days in the Pediatric ICU.

“Max still has a long road ahead of him to regain his strength and relearn how to walk,” the post read. “But we are so thankful to have our family back together. Thank you God for this miracle. Also, thank you to our incredible team of doctors and angel nurses for taking such good care of our boy. And to our village for helping so much with Charlie and Brandon.”

The post was accompanied by several photos that included the Dodgers’ All-Star first baseman sitting next to Maxiums and Chelsea in a hospital bed.

The carousel also included another photo of Freeman holding Maximus and a video of the couple’s two other sons running up to hug their brother during what appeared to be a hospital visit.

Chelsea had taken the 3-year-old to the hospital on July 24 after he stopped eating and drinking, while also becoming “very lethargic.”

The Dodgers star joined his son and wife at the hospital after the Dodgers fell 8-3 to the rival Giants that same night.

Chelsea later revealed that Maximus had “rapidly declined and went into full body paralysis” in a post on social media last Thursday.

It was after a number of tests that doctors discovered the “neurological condition that is especially rare in children.”

Freeman has been away from the Dodgers during his son’s medical scare and the team placed him on the family emergency list.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters Friday that he had been texting with Freeman.

“He says that they’re encouraged, so we’re just holding out hope and prayers,” Roberts said, according to MLB.com.

Freeman is hitting .288 with 16 homers, 67 RBIs and 63 runs scored.
