Bill Gates was reportedly like a "kid at a candy store" when it came to young women at Microsoft. The issue occurred so much that he apparently banned from having young female interns alone with him, according to a new book that was reviewed by the Daily Mail.
New York Times reporter journalist Anupreeta Das is set to expose intimate details about Gates in an upcoming book, titled, "Billionaire, Nerd, Savior, King: Bill Gates and His Quest to Shape Our World." Das writes that Gates' marriage with Melinda Gates came to a breaking point in 2019 when his connection to Jeffrey Epstein was exposed and that his alleged infidelity left her "seething for a long time."
The book alleges many instances of infidelity with Gates, "Well into his marriage it was not unusual for Gates to flirt with women and pursue them, making unwanted advances such as asking a Microsoft employee out to dinner while he was still the company’s chairman," Das wrote. "Gates flirted with some of the interns at the Gates Foundation, putting them in the uncomfortable position of having to think about their career prospects while not wanting to be hit on by the boss."
"In one instance a colleague chastised one person for sending a 22-year-old intern to Gates' office by herself, saying: ‘She’s too young and too pretty.'" According to those who saw his approaches to women firsthand, Gates was "clumsy rather than predatory."
Das writes that the Gates went through an "especially rough patch" in the mid-2000s after their youngest child was born and had to have marriage counseling. Gates even had an arrangement set with tech entrepreneur Ann Winblad, after he failed to take his chances with her before marrying Melinda. Winblad attempted to court Bill, however, when he spent a romantic weekend at her cottage reading a biography about Henry Ford, he bungled his chances.
After marrying Melinda, he persuaded his wife to allow him to go up to the cottage with Winblad once a year. After they divorced, Gates began a relationship with Paula Hurd, the widow of former Oracle CEO Mark Hurd.
Melinda originally met Gates in 1987, while she was a young worker at Microsoft and Bill was technically her boss at the time.
