For the first time in 172 days, an NFL game was played Thursday night.
The Hall of Fame Game between the Texans and Bears didn’t look much like last year’s Super Bowl — because of the players on the field and the new kickoff rules (more on that later) — but it still means the Giants and Jets are that much closer to returning.
Two weeks into training camp, it’s clear Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is healthy and Giants head coach Brian Daboll is calling offensive plays. Those issues are settled, but there are plenty of undecided questions that need answering before both teams open the season on Sept. 8.
