Biden May Soon Announce Plans to Permanently Alter Supreme Court

On Monday, Joe Biden allegedly plans to announce several dramatic new proposals to permanently change the nature of the Supreme Court, in an unprecedented assault on the Constitution.

Politico reports that the reforms, first hinted at during Biden’s Oval Office address to the nation last week on his historic decision not to run for re-election, will include term limits for Supreme Court justices and a new code of ethics, among other radical proposals.

“I’m going to call for Supreme Court reform, because this is critical to our democracy,” said Biden during his widely-panned address, when the 81-year-old president once again appeared tired, dazed, and repeatedly stammered and lost his train of thought as he spoke.

Two anonymous sources told Politico that, in addition to radically reforming the Supreme Court, Biden will also attempt to pursue a constitutional amendment significantly reducing presidential immunity. This effort is in direct response to the Supreme Court’s ruling on July 1st granting broad immunity to former President Donald Trump with regards to the various criminal prosecutions against him related to actions he took while in office.

Biden may announce the initiative during an upcoming trip to the Lyndon B. Johnson presidential library in Austin, Texas. Although the White House did not offer an official statement on the matter, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre previously said on Thursday that Biden “believes if you are serving in high office, you should be held to a transparency, accountability and you should be held to a high ethics.”

However, any such radical proposals would first have to pass through Congress, where Republicans control the House of Representatives and Democrats control the Senate. Furthermore, any measure must reach 60 votes in the Senate in order to overcome the filibuster. Similarly, a constitutional amendment would have to be approved by two-thirds of both chambers of Congress, or from a constitutional convention called by two-thirds of all states and supported by three-fourths of all state legislatures.

Biden and top Democrats have increasingly turned against the very institution of the Supreme Court following the confirmation of a 6-3 conservative majority under Trump’s first term. The court has since issued landmark rulings on abortion, gun rights, affirmative action, presidential immunity, and the January 6th criminal cases, among many others. Some Democrats, including Congressman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), have called for “packing” the Supreme Court by adding at least three more justices, in order to give the court a new, but artificial, liberal majority.
