ER Editor: We’re not touting for a political party or candidate within Canada, but Canadian Independent (CI) picked up a parliamentary Q/A from 5 days ago led by Conservative MP Michelle Ferreri, who’s also shadow minister for Families, Children and Social Development. In the hot seat is Kamal Khera, Trudeau’s Minister for Diversity, Inclusion and People with Disabilities. (Dwell on the first half of her ministerial title …) MAiD, an acronym, is the hideous voluntary euthanasia program, one of several hideous things Trudeau has become infamous for.

Underinvestment in medical care will push people up to and beyond the brink, which means some will choose to die instead of “burden” their loved ones or society at large. They were right.

Canadians with disabilities are choosing Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) because they can’t afford to live or house themselves in Canada. The Liberals’ solution is to offer those with disabilities an extra $6 a day.

The Liberal government in 2022 said the new federal disability benefit “would really lift a significant amount of people out of poverty big time.”

However, the Liberals’ recent 2024 budget reveals that they plan to help Canadians living with disabilities and living in poverty by providing only $6 a day under the new federal disability benefit, with payments not expected to start rolling out until mid-2025.
