FBI Director: Trump Assailant Sought Info on JFK Assassination › American Greatness

FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before Congress on Wednesday about the perpetrator of the failed assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump, including the killer’s fascination with past presidential assassins.

As Just The News reports, Wray told the House Judiciary Committee that, among other details, the FBI’s ongoing investigation into 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks had uncovered his recent search history, which included him Googling “How far away was Oswald from Kennedy?”

“That’s a search that obviously is significant in terms of his state of mind,” said Wray.

Lee Harvey Oswald has widely been accused of being the sole perpetrator of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22nd, 1963, although conspiracy theories continue circulating to this day. According to the official story, Oswald fired three shots at Kennedy’s motorcade as it passed through Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas. Oswald was located on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository.

On July 13th, Crooks was perched on the roof of an industrial facility roughly 150 yards away from where President Trump was speaking to a crowd in Butler, Pennsylvania. His first shot narrowly missed President Trump’s head, grazing his right ear, and subsequent shots killed 50-year-old Corey Comperatore and seriously wounded two other rallygoers. Crooks was then killed by a Secret Service counter-sniper.

The FBI is leading the investigation, focusing on Crooks’ motive, how he was able to get onto the roof, and what security failures led to Crooks coming so close to succeeding when basic security protocols would not have even allowed him onto the roof in the first place.

In response to a question from Congressman Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), Wray said that “so far we have not found any evidence of accomplices or co-conspirators, foreign or domestic.”

Wray also said that the FBI has not yet been able to determine a motive.

The previous hearing on the assassination attempt was before the House Oversight Committee, with then-Director of the Secret Service Kimberly Cheatle testifying. After facing bipartisan backlash over the abundance of security failures on July 13th, Cheatle announced her resignation on Tuesday.
