Biden Question Scandal Brings Consequences for Radio Host and Earns Scathing Response From Station

The Biden team is just a disaster area when it comes to trying to deal with Joe Biden's cognitive issues.

They had Biden do two interviews with black radio hosts, one in Wisconsin and the other in Philadelphia. Biden had trouble even there, saying for example in the Philly interview, that he was the "first black woman who served with a black president."

But then they were caught in another scandal when the Philly radio host Andrea Lawful-Sanders said that she'd been provided eight questions by the Biden team and she'd approved four of them. The Wisconsin host Earl Ingram said he'd also been given questions in the same way, and he did four that were similar.

"If the White House is trying now to prove the vim, vigor, acuity of the President I don't know how they do that by sending questions first before the interview."

As Victor Blackwell noted there, this doesn't exactly help the effort to prove Biden's vitality when the questions are all set up. Even knowing what would be asked in advance, Biden still said crazy things.

The White House denied that they did it and essentially tried to shove blame off on the campaign.

To overcommunicate, the White House Black media director was not involved because it was a campaign interview and not a White House one.

That shocked some, like ABC's Jon Karl, despite the fact we've reported on Biden receiving questions in advance from reporters in the past. This wasn't new, although it should be scandalous every time.

"This is malpractice. When you give the interviewer questions, it is no longer an interview. Why did the White House do this?" Karl asked.

I don't think I believe the outrage when this has been out there for a long time -- easy to see -- if you had been doing your job.

The White House did it, in answer to Karl's question, because they've been doing it for a long time. Where was the outrage from the media in the past when we've been calling it out?

Michael LaRosa, who formerly worked communications for Jill Biden, also said it has long been a tactic for the Biden team to pre-submit questions for interviews.

But now there have been some consequences from the Biden team's effort to manipulate things for Biden.

WURD, the radio station that Andrea Lawful-Sanders works for, has parted ways with her.

Sara Lomax, the station's president and CEO, said the interview had been arranged and negotiated without the knowledge of management. She said having pre-determined questions violates their "practice of remaining an independent media outlet accountable to our listeners."

WURD Radio remains an independent voice that our audience can trust will hold elected officials accountable. As Pennsylvania’s only independent Black-owned talk radio station, WURD Radio has cultivated that trust with our audience over our 20-year history. This is something we take very seriously. Agreeing to a pre-determined set of questions jeopardizes that trust and is not a practice that WURD Radio engages in or endorses as a matter of practice or official policy.

This part of the statement stood out.

This practice of de-legitimizing Black voices continues today. WURD Radio is not a mouthpiece for the Biden or any other Administration. Internally, we will commit to reviewing our policies, procedures, and practices to reinforce WURD’s independence and trust with our listeners. But mainstream media should do its own introspection to explore how they have lost the trust of so many Americans, Black Americans chief among them.

So a black radio host lost her job for going along with this, and the station sounds like it's scolding the Biden team, calling out the "delegitimizing of Black voices" and saying their outlet is not a "mouthpiece" for the Biden administration or any other administration. Got it.

I'm thinking Joe didn't help himself with the black vote with this whole scandal.
