A post-debate poll is a nightmare for President Joe Biden as it shows that a plurality of independents want him to get out of the election.

A JL Partners poll on Friday showed that 68 percent of independent voters want the president to step aside, Breitbart News reported.

The poll also found that 41 percent of those who voted for President Biden in 2020 believe he should step aside.

Former President Donald Trump increased his share of independents who said they would vote for him by four points, to 44 percent, the poll showed.

But the drop for Biden among independents was catastrophic as it showed him with 24 percent who said they would vote for him, a fall of 28 percent from a poll taken before the debate.

Breitbart News reported:

Sixty-four percent of voters believe the Democrat party should replace Biden as its nominee, a New York Times/Siena poll found this week, underscoring a lack of enthusiasm behind the president’s reelection campaign.

The poll asked voters, “Do you think Joe Biden should remain the Democratic Party’s nominee for president, or should there be a different Democratic nominee for president?”

  • Yes: 29 percent
  • No: 64 percent

Among Democrats, a slim majority said Biden should remain on the ticket:

  • Yes: 52 percent
  • No: 45 percent

An overwhelming amount of independents said Biden should not remain on the ticket:

  • Yes: 21 percent
  • No: 71 percent

Twenty percent of voters believe Biden’s America is headed “off on the wrong track,” the poll also found, while 70 percent said Biden is too old to be “an effective president.”

When asked which candidate is expected to win in November, former President Donald Trump led Biden by ten points (48-38 percent).

The Times poll sampled 1,226 registered voters from June 20-25 as has a margin of error of 3 points.

A group of Fox News focus group voters, most of whom are independents, have had a big change of heart following the first debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump.

Ten of the 15 focus group members switched from Biden to the 45th president after watching Biden struggle mightily on CNN’s stage in Atlanta Thursday night.

“Cognitive ability … this is the highest office, and for me, it’s very important that I trust the executive to understand and be cognitively competent,” said one group member who changed from supporting Biden to supporting Trump following the debate, Fox News noted.

Biden, who has been facing increasing questions about his fitness to continue serving in the nation’s highest office, sought to dispel any notion that he lacked the physical and mental capacity for another four years as president. However, many critics argue that his performance only served to deepen those fears among voters.

“From the very first moment, Biden looked old, hard to understand, confused, saying scary things, and just throwing mud,” FOX Business’ Larry Kudlow said after the debate was over.

That sentiment permeated the Fox focus group, including one member who said one only needed to replay the video of the debate to see that Trump was the clear choice.

“I’ve lived four years with Trump. I lived three and a half years with [Biden],” the member told Fox’s moderator. “I’ll take the other four.”

Biden did receive some kudos from some members of the group for his stances on taxes and child care, but overall, his decrepit demeanor convinced them he was not fit for another term in office.

“I don’t think anyone is going to remember anything he said tonight,” one member said. “They’re going to remember how he said it.”

In what can only be described as worse news for Biden after his shoddy debate performance, the viewership ratings are in.

The debate, which was simulcast on 22 networks, was watched by a staggering 51.3 million people, IndieWire reported. And when the clips circulating on the Internet and television are accounted for, the president’s trainwreck of a debate was viewed by far more people than Democrats would have liked.
