Former President Donald Trump isn’t happy with the attention that President Biden has received for his poor debate performance.

The fallout from Thursday’s debate has largely focused on the president’s ability to serve another term after he clocked in a performance marred by a raspy voice that trailed off during answers.

At one point, Mr. Trump said, “I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence. I don’t think he knows what he said either.”

Mr. Trump contended on Saturday that the spotlight should’ve been on him after the spectacle.

“As I walked off the stage on Thursday night, at the end of the highly anticipated ‘Debate,’ anchors, political reporters and all screamed that I had had the greatest debate performance in the long and storied history of Presidential Debates,” Mr. Trump wrote on Truth Social. “They all said, effectively, ‘Trump was fantastic!’”

He continued, “This theme was universal, even at CNN & MSDNC, but by Friday evening it was all about the poor performance of Crooked Joe, and not so much about how well I did. Oh well, that’s the way it is but, importantly, the result is the same!!!”

Mr. Trump’s comments follow a campaign rally in Virginia on Friday where he claimed Mr. Biden got a friendly network and the debate rules that he wanted, but that “no amount of rest or rigging” could save him on the debate stage.

The former president didn’t walk away unscathed from the debate either, with critics contending he uttered numerous falsehoods.

But overall, Mr. Trump was lauded on social media as showing strength versus Mr. Biden’s frailty.

Democrats entered panic mode following the debate, with some calling on Mr. Biden to exit the race and let another candidate step in. But the president, at a rally in North Carolina on Friday, vowed to continue running after he admitted that his age had caught up to his ability to walk, speak and debate.
