Former President Donald Trump parried questions about accepting election results multiple times during the debate Thursday night.
When the former president was pressed a third time on whether he would accept the 2024 election results, he said he would accept the results if the election is “fair and legal and [a] good election.”
Mr. Trump maintains though that the 2020 election was not fair or legitimate, and President Biden criticized Mr. Trump for continuing “to promote this lie about” the 2020 election being stolen.
He shot back that he doubts Mr. Trump will accept the result if it’s a loss because he’s a “whiner.”
“You can’t stand the loss, something snapped in you when you lost the last time,” Mr. Biden said.
Mr. Trump currently faces two criminal cases over the 2020 election and his refusal to accept his loss — one in Georgia, where the debate was held, and another in Washington.
