President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday named longtime Florida Republican political consultant Susie Wiles the White House Chief of Staff for his incoming administration.

Along with Chris LaCivita, Wiles was one of the two co-campaign managers of Trump’s successful 2024 bid for the presidency. She will become the first female Chief of Staff in the history of the position, which was created in 1946.

Trump said via a statement: “Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history, and was an integral part of both my 2016 and 2020 successful campaigns.”

“Susie is tough, smart, innovative, and is universally admired and respected,” the president-elect continued. “Susie will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again.”

The New York Post reported: “Wiles became known as a top GOP strategist after helping Rick Scott, now Florida’s junior senator, win the Sunshine State’s governorship in 2010.”

POLITICO added: “A veteran of Florida politics, Wiles directed Trump’s campaign to victory in the state in 2016. She also helped lead Ron DeSantis’ 2018 campaign for Florida governor.”

Wiles “has not worked in Washington in decades, since her time in Ronald Reagan’s Labor Department, in Reagan’s White House as a scheduler and on Capitol Hill for the late Rep. Jack Kemp (R-N.Y),” POLITICO noted.

Political commentator Collin Rugg wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Wiles has been credited for running what is seen as Trump’s ‘most sophisticated and disciplined campaign.’”

Wiles is the daughter of the late Pat Summerall, a legendary National Football League (NFL) player and broadcaster.
