The Trump election landslide this week, including the capture of the Senate and House, means a new morning in America. For Democrats, though, it’s just mourning in America.

Donald Trump’s 312-226 electoral vote wipeout dealt a soul-crushing blow to the Party of Joy. But this time, the Democrats can’t even fault the electoral college system that frustrates their power-grabbing ambitions, because Trump handily won the popular vote as well, by nearly 5 million votes. The Democrats have nothing left to blame but each other – and the finger-pointing recriminations started almost immediately as the Trump victory began to look inevitable.

Predictably, because Kamala Harris is a “woman of color,” the first j’accuse was directed at the nebulous forces of misogyny and racism. Democrat strategist David Axelrod declared on CNN early Wednesday morning, “Let’s be honest about this. Let’s be absolutely blunt about it… there is racial bias in this country, and there is sexism in this country, and anybody who thinks that that did not in any way impact on the outcome of this race is wrong.”

“You can never underestimate how, you know, racist and sexist this country is.” fumed hate-mongering West Wing actor/activist and white man Bradley Whitford.

MSNBC propagandist Joe Scarborough pointed out that the racism and misogyny that he believes undermined Harris came not just from white people: “A lot of Hispanic voters have problems with black candidates,” he asserted, and his guest, lifelong race hustler Al Sharpton, interjected, “And with other Hispanics!” Reverend Al added, “Some of the most misogynist things I’ve heard, going on this ‘Get Out the Vote’ tour, came from black men.”

Nothing triggers Democrats quite like minorities voting against their elitist overlords’ expectations, and Donald Trump drew a larger percentage of votes from blacks, Jews, and Latinos than any Republican president in forever. But Democrats won’t pause to ask themselves why they are hemorrhaging minority voters to a man they smear as Literally Hitler™; instead, they fall back on denouncing the defectors as race traitors.

The blame also fell on campaign messaging that missed the mark. The New York Times explained, “The issues the party chose to emphasize — abortion rights and the protection of democracy — did not resonate as much as the economy and immigration, which Americans often highlighted as among their most pressing concerns.” No kidding. That’s because the Democrat leadership cares only about pushing ideology, not about listening to the American people.

The Democrats even blamed hapless Joe Biden, who stuck them with his not-ready-for-prime-time Vice President as the candidate in the first place.

White House Press Propagandist Karine Jean-Pierre even told reporters on Thursday afternoon that Harris lost because of continuing frustration over the COVID pandemic.

Some progressives are now faulting actor/activist George Clooney for penning a New York Times op-ed calling for the decrepit Biden to step down. “This is all George Clooney’s fault,” one Democrat X (Twitter) user complained. Another wrote, “I would like to take a moment to thank George Clooney for shoving the most incompetent candidate down America’s throat to ensure a Trump victory. #MAGA.”

Speaking of celebrities, their post-election meltdown has been stunning to behold. Democrat mega-donor Barbra Streisand posted simply, “There are no words left.” Has-been John Cusack wrote in a since-deleted X post, “The fact that the country would choose to destroy itself by voting in a convicted felon rapist and Nazi is a sign of deep nihilism. To put it mildly.” Grammy-winner Billie Eilish posted the hysterical message “It’s a war on women,” over an ominous black background symbolizing dark days ahead for millionaires like her.

But guess what, celebs? No one cares. This election confirmed that the political influence of these pompous showbiz phonies is thankfully over. Kamala not only had every late-night talk show host in her camp, she also trotted out every Hollywood and music industry star she could lasso to help boost her chances, and all they did was alienate even more Americans. No one but Democrats cares anymore what Bradley Whitford or John Cusack or the classless rapper Cardi B thinks. Anyone who takes his or her voting cues from the likes of Mark Ruffalo or Billie Eilish or even Oprah Winfrey simply is not a serious human being.

ESPN host Stephen A. Smith, a Harris voter, blasted such celebrities and media mogul Oprah in particular, who told her audience that if they don’t vote for Kamala they will never have the opportunity to vote again:

In the end, celebrities, who are worth hundreds of millions, if not billions, who most American citizens feel are incredibly detached from their way of life and their quality of life, were not going to get away and guilt them into doing something different than what their experience says is going on and what they should do about it.

Democrat strategist and CNN contributor Julie Roginsky came closer than most on the Left to identifying the Democrats’ problem when she said Thursday on CNN’s Newsroom that her party cannot speak to “normal people” and is “not the party of common sense.”

Lifelong Communist Sen. Bernie Sanders edged even closer than Roginsky to the truth by being willing to tell his fellow Leftists, “It’s not just Kamala. It’s a Democratic Party which increasingly has become a party of identity politics, rather than understanding that the vast majority of people in this country are working class.”

Trump’s electoral red wave feels like a tragedy to Democrats, but the real tragedy is that, outlier self-critics like Sanders and Roginsky aside, they are very unlikely to learn the real lesson from their election loss. Instead of wallowing in the blame game, they need to (but won’t) see this as an opportunity for introspection and self-examination. The issue is not their messaging but the radical policies and ideology at the core of the Democrat Party. If they want to win American voters over, the Democrats don’t need to find more effective ways to sell socialism, equity, “anti-racism,” Critical Race Theory, gender ideology, open borders, gun confiscation, DEI initiatives, slavery reparations, Big Tech censorship, globalism, environmental alarmism, anti-Americanism and antisemitism – they need to jettison those corrosive, divisive, false ideas altogether.
