The Mexican navy has seized nearly 4 tons of cocaine in a raid on drug smugglers off the coast of Acapulco, authorities said Tuesday.
Aerial and maritime surveillance spotted a low-profile speedboat with two motors and nine people on board about 150 miles southeast of the Pacific coast city, Mexican naval officials said in a release. Onboard were 102 black packages alleged to contain bricks of cocaine, totaling more than 3.9 tons.
Officials did not specify when the recent raid occurred. The Mexican navy posted video footage of its operation on X on Tuesday.

Officials said the nine people on board the vessel were taken into custody, and six are drug smugglers of foreign nationality. The Mexican navy did not say which countries the foreign suspects hail from.
