Numerous polls conducted during this election year indicate that Americans rank immigration as the top problem confronting the nation. Without including other points of entry across the nation, estimates place the number of illegal immigrant interactions that Joe Biden and the Democrats have permitted at the southern border alone at 7.6 million. Since Joe Biden took office, the number of Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents has been so high that they are simply unable to handle the influx of undocumented immigrants into the country. Thanks to new information, it is becoming apparent how ridiculous things have gotten at the border.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has around 7.4 million cases on its non-detained docket at the moment, and by the end of the year, that figure should rise to eight million. To put things into context, that is twice as much as when Donald Trump was president. That equates to almost 7,000 cases per ICE agent if you calculate their workload that way. The non-detained docket does not include all of the approximately 6,000 deportation officers working in the country. Even still, doing the arithmetic shows that they could only manage 42,000 cases at a time, which is an impossibly low workload.

Non-detained immigrants are those who are not currently in ICE custody. These are illegal aliens who received permission to re-enter the country through one of those infamous court dates that will take place years from now. This also encompasses individuals who remain in the country despite an immigration judge’s removal order. The Biden administration’s catch-and-release strategy has contributed to the impossibly huge workload by adding one million cases since the start of fiscal year 2024, which began on October 1, 2023. However, this terrible situation has improved. These figures do not include the over 1.9 million fugitives who entered the country during Joe Biden’s tenure, as they did not interact with federal agents. The task of locating and removing these individuals also falls to ICE personnel.

According to statements made by Donald Trump, he would start mass deportations if reelected. A lot of Americans support this kind of action. 62 percent of registered voters, including 53 percent of Hispanics, favor the mass deportation of illegal immigrants, according to a recent CBS/YouGov survey. Even if the 7.6 million figure turns out to be accurate or even higher, Joe Biden and his administration have unleashed a disaster that may require Trump to serve out his entire second term to fully rectify it. Trump would also address the issue of ICE officers, although Democrats would fiercely oppose any Trump border clean-up.

In 2024, Democrats will be aware of their problems. They’re losing a lot of Hispanic and black voters. In an attempt to bring in a fresh batch of Democratic votes, Joe Biden and the Democrats have caused havoc at the border. It doesn’t matter that most of those individuals don’t want to integrate and become citizens of the United States. Following the recent capture of eight Tajikistani men accused of having ties to ISIS in multiple places, including New York, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia, it also seems inconsequential to address the very real threat of a terrorist assault on American territory.

The scenario is just unsustainable given the number of employees and the constant flow of undocumented immigrants crossing the border, ICE told Fox News, stating the obvious. Considering Joe Biden’s past record of “controlling” the border, it’s reasonable to assume that the shortage of personnel is a deliberate strategy.
