(The White House) President Biden has signed an executive order directing his campaign team to go out and hire former President Trump’s campaign managers as the current commander-in-chief sinks in the polls.

“Look, it’s become clear by now that ‘the other guy’ is running a far better campaign, that he’s more on-message than even when he won in 2016, and the polls are so bad now there’s no way his old campaign team can turn things around in time for November,” White House chief of staff Jeff Zients said. “The polling says it all. The president offered his current campaign staffers the customary ‘thanks for everything,’ but in asking them to essentially go find their replacements in Trump’s campaign, they understand their days are numbered. And whether they like it or not, the president wants to win this thing, so his advisers told him the best thing he could do is hire Trump’s people, and he agreed. Every option’s on the table.”

Zients did not say whether Biden’s order included having the president give his former staffers a good employment recommendation, but instead he asked: “Would you?”
