The Trump campaign website does not contain this statement. A Trump spokesperson told TMZ the statement is not real.

The State of New York euthanized social media sensations Peanut the squirrel and Fred the raccoon due to rabies concerns on October 30th. The deaths of these two animals have caused great controversy amongst social media users.
Social media users are claiming that the Trump campaign released an official statement on Peanut. One user wrote, “Trump has weighed in on Peanut the squirrel.”

A Trump spokesperson told TMZ the Trump campaign statement on Peanut is not real. The fabricated press release is dated November 2, 2024.
The Trump camp has mentioned Peanut, though. On Nov. 3 2024 Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance made a remark regarding Peanut at a rally. Vance stated, “so I know Don’s fired up about Peanut the squirrel.”
Vance did not reference a press release or official statement during these remarks. Check Your Fact has reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.
