Green Party vice-presidential nominee Butch Ware came out against allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports in a video circulating on social media.
The Green Party is known to frequently run to the left of the Democratic Party on several issues, often championing social justice and diversity causes like gender identity. Ware called allowing biological men to compete with women “unfair” in a video posted on X, a position that appears strikingly out of step with the party’s platform.
“I don’t think that biological males should play in female sports,” Ware said. “It gives an unfair competitive advantage.”
