Democrats showed their desperation in Pennsylvania Saturday as they called on popular Michelle Obama to rip former president Donald Trump at a solo rally – while Vice President Kamala Harris headed to New York to hobnob with celebrities on “Saturday Night Live.”
The former First Lady, who never uttered the 45th president’s name, referred to him as a “brazen” and “bombastic” con man as she rallied in Montgomery County – a suburb of Philadelphia – in a final sprint in the battleground state to get Harris over the finish line.
“We have to choose leaders who embody the values we seek to pass onto our children. There is no way that we can tell our kids that anything is possible, that we should be open and accepting of every voice and perspective and then give them a leader who contradicts all of those lessons we’ve taught them,” Obama said.
“If this election goes the wrong way, this backward vision of America being spewed by Kamala’s opponent – it will infect all of our lives no matter how old we are.”
Obama’s speech came as news broke that Harris was traveling to the Big Apple to make a surprise appearance during this week’s episode of “Saturday Night Live,” an insider exclusively told The Post.
Harris will appear during the show’s traditional, politics-skewing cold open, the tipster said.
Obama, in her plea, noted that politicians don’t always get it right before going after the Trump campaign, claiming the GOP nominee is spewing hate and dangerously stoking the fears of everyday Americans to get back into the White House.
She referred to Trump as a “small man trying to make himself feel big by pouring gasoline” on people’s genuine pain and anger, calling his approach “shameful.”
Obama was the latest national name to called on by Dems to make a last ditch Pa. plea in Montgomery County in the past few weeks, as she follows campaign stops from Liz Cheney, Elizabeth Warren, Gretchen Whitmer, Josh Shapiro, and more.
First Lady Dr. Jill Biden will campaign for Harris at two locations in Montgomery County and one stop in Harrisburg on Sunday, as Harris is expected to crisscross the Keystone State in the final hours before Election Day with scheduled stops in Allentown, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia on Monday.
On the final Saturday before the election, Harris made an afternoon campaign stop at Georgia’s Atlanta Civic Center before heading to a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, while her Oval Office opponent spoke to a crowd of about 20,000 in Gastonia, North Carolina, before heading to Milwaukee for a nighttime event.
Trump will also hold a rally in Lancaster County on Sunday and events in Reading and Pittsburgh on Monday.
