Vice President Kamala Harris will host a rally and concert in Milwaukee on Friday featuring musicians from the 1960s to now.
The event will feature performances by current stars GloRilla, Flo Milli and DJ Gemini Gilly and kick it old school with 1980s rapper MC Lyte and 1960s R&B group The Isley Brothers.
In addition, music star Cardi B will deliver remarks.
The show will be at Veterans Park, close to downtown’s Fiserv Forum, where former President Donald Trump will host a rally.
This will be the second time this week that Ms. Harris and Mr. Trump have crisscrossed each other in swing state Wisconsin.
On Wednesday, Ms. Harris held a rally in Madison with Gov. Tony Evers while Mr. Trump appeared in Green Bay with Packers legend Brett Favre.
The race in Wisconsin is dead even.
Ms. Harris leads Mr. Trump 50%-49% among likely voters, according to a poll by Marquette University released Wednesday.
The Harris campaign in its announcement took pains to separate which musicians would be performing and which would be giving remarks.
Last week several prominent media outlets reported that Beyoncé would be performing at a Harris rally in Houston, with some pledging to carry it via livestream.
Rallygoers, hoping for a free concert by the superstar, were disappointed that she only delivered remarks endorsing Ms. Harris but didn’t perform any of her hits. Instead, 91-year-old Willie Nelson sang for the crowd.
The snafu resulted in a backlash against the Harris campaign.
“So let me get this straight, Kamala Harris baited people with a free Beyonce concert and then had Willie Nelson perform,” wrote one critic on X. “Talk about a bunch of pissed-off concert-goers.”
