In a post on Friday, columnist Jemele Hill said that white men are the "worst thing in America" in relation to their support, or lack thereof, of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
Hill posted a graphic, which cites Pew Research polling, that showed 36 percent of white men in America support Harris in her run for the White House. In comparison, 53 percent of Latino men and 72 percent of black men supported Harris, the graphic showed. "So the problem is …. Can anyone guess? I can’t QWHITE see it," Hill wrote.
A user responded, "maybe calling them the worse thing in America for decades has had some consequences," to which Hill wrote, "Maybe them being the worse thing in America for decades has its consequences."
This comes as the latest poll from the New York Times/Siena College found that Harris and GOP candidate Donald Trump are tied at 48 percent across the country. The campaign has not only had a struggle gaining white male support, but also male support in general.
Harris and her surrogates have also been hammering the black male demographic as crucial swing states like Georgia show that the demographic is leaning away from Harris and toward Trump.
Barack Obama made a stop at a local campaign office before a rally in Pittsburg and told a group of black men, "We have not yet seen the same kinds of energy and turnout in all quarters of our neighborhoods and communities as we saw when I was running. Now, I also want to say that that seems to be more pronounced with the brothers."
Harris met with Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer at a bar Saturday for a photo-op, during which a hot mic captured Harris telling Whitmer, "We need to move ground among men."
