Former President Donald Trump has eked out a 1-percentage-point lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in Wisconsin, according to a new poll released Monday.

The USA Today/Suffolk University poll shows Mr. Trump gaining momentum in Wisconsin, a battleground state where he was down by as much as 2 percentage points as recently as Oct. 7.

Mr. Trump leads Ms. Harris 48% to 47% among likely voters, the poll found. That tracks with other recent polls that show the election in Wisconsin is a dead heat. Polling aggregator FiveThirtyEight has the two candidates neck and neck in the Badger State.

Despite the good news for Mr. Trump, there are some warning signs. The poll shows a massive gender gap in Wisconsin, with Ms. Harris ahead by 14 points among likely female voters, 55% to 41%.

However, Mr. Trump leads Ms. Harris by 18 points among likely male voters, 56% to 38%.

Ms. Harris’ 14-point edge over Mr. Trump among women is less than the 17-point lead (53% to 36%) she has with women nationally, the USA Today/Suffolk poll found. Nationally, men favor Mr. Trump by a 16-point margin, 53% to 37%.

The poll found that Mr. Trump’s lead with male voters is more significant than it was in 2020, when the former president won the male vote by 2 points over President Biden, according to Pew Research.

In Door County, Wisconsin, which is viewed as a bellwether for this year’s election, Ms. Harris leads Mr. Trump by 3 points, 50% to 47%.

The poll included 500 likely voters and was conducted between Oct. 20-23 with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points. The Door County survey included 300 likely voters and has a margin of error of 5.7 points.
