"The rebels are Republicans now." 

That is a takeaway from what Joe Rogan told GOP nominee Donald Trump during their three-hour-long sitdown podcast on "The Joe Rogan Experience." Rogan's show tops the charts on a nearly daily basis with the long-form interviews. For a long time, the host has been hesitant about bringing Trump on. However, with the election nearing, the GOP nominee made the long-awaited guest appearance, and it already has over 11 million views on YouTube.  

During the interview, Rogan noted that more young people in the country are getting fed up with what Rogan called, "a lot of this woke bullsh*t," and added, "Young people are tired of being yelled at and scolded. They're tired of these people that they think are mentally ill telling them what the moral standards of society should be today, and people are upset." 

He continued, "The rebels are Republicans now. Like, you want to be a rebel? You want to be punk rock? You want to, like, buck the system? You're a conservative now. That's how crazy – and then the liberals are now pro-silencing criticism. They're pro-censorship online. They’re talking about regulating free speech and then regulating the First Amendment. It's bananas to watch."  

In response to Rogan's observation about the censorship that has been pushed by some parts of the Democratic Party, Trump told him, "Joe, they come after their political opponents. I've been investigated more than Alfonse Capone." The GOP nominee has often made the same point at different political rallies with respect to the multiple legal cases against him.  

At the start of the show, Rogan asked Trump what it was like when he was first elected president. The GOP nominee explained that it was a "surreal" experience when he first got into the position and reflected on seeing the Lincoln bedroom when he first walked into the White House.  

Trump said that the most important things for him upon entering office were survival from media attacks against him as well as running the country. "I really focused on governing the country and survival. Because from the moment I won - before I got to office all of a sudden - it I mean they came down on me. I mean nobody has ever been treated that way," the former president said of the media atmosphere.  

Rogan also took some shots at the media during the show as well, pointing out the multiple media hoax stories about Trump, "Like the very fine people hoax the Russia gate hoax all these different things they've tried to pin on you...  it's a clear distortion of what you actually said." 

Trump interjected, talking about the "bloodbath hoax" where he once talked about the auto industry during a rally and said that the industry would suffer a "bloodbath" if Joe Biden took office. At the time, many media outlets took the quote out of context to imply that Trump was calling for violence amid the election.  

For the longest time, Rogan was apprehensive about bringing Trump in, however, during the podcast, he revealed one of the reasons to bring the GOP nominee in for an interview. Trump asked him if Theo Von's interview with the GOP nominee is why Rogan finally decided to bring him on, to which Rogan responded, "No... once they shot you I was like 'He's got to come in here,'" and added that the timing for the interview had to be right.  

A large theme of the interview surrounded the bias of media at several points. Trump also snuck in shots at Vice President Kamala Harris, saying that she would not be able to last for the full three-hour interview.  

It has been reported that Harris was planning on going onto the show with Rogan, however, that has yet to play out.
